THE SECRET TO CREATING A FEW MILLION
DOT-COM BUSINESSES AND INCREASING A COUNTRY’S E-COMMERCE IS VDNSYSTEMS.
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN - VDN Systems, Inc. announced at the INET2000 Internet Global Summit its patent pending Virtual Domain Name System (VDNS)(TM). VDNS(TM) will increase the domain name space to over 2.3 billion from the current 9.4 million dot-com being managed by the sole registry Network Solutions, Inc.
Companies can register their dot-com
outside the USA within a country as a Local Domain Name (LDN)(TM), which is
a dot-com with no country code attached.
VDNS technology will automatically guide users to the web page in
their country. For example the
Australian web site “www.sony.com.au” can be accessed locally as
“www.sony.com” within Australia. The
two-letter country code suffix “.au” is needed only when the site is
accessed from outside the country. Worldwide
users outside the USA can still reach the “current” Sony’s dot-com
site simply as “www.sony.com.us”. This
will ensure continuing transparent access to the current dot-com addresses.
VDNS(TM) allows each country to resolve its domain name first locally
before sending traffic overseas, dramatically increasing the efficiency of
the whole Internet and limiting traffic jams.
Truc (Curt) Tran, President of VDNSystems,
compared his technology to the telephone system. “When
a person is dialing a phone number outside of his country, a country code is
required. This permits local
telephone numbers to be re-used within every country without conflicting. By expanding the current 9.4 million dot-com addresses with
243 country codes, the Internet can now accommodate 2.3 billion dot-com
addresses worldwide.”
VDNS will greatly benefit global consumers
who would be able to access more dot-com web sites in their native countries
and languages. Businesses
can now serve their international customers better by globally localizing
their e-commerce web sites, as Sony, Ford, and others have done, with far
greater ease. Countries around
the world can harness the same dot-com growth phenomenon as in the USA.
With a few million new dot-com businesses created in each country, a
country can enjoy a boost in its e-commerce.
GLOBAL REGISTRATION AVAILABLE
VDNSystems also announced its “Global
Dot-Com Registration Services”(TM), to help businesses to easily register
their dot-com addresses around the world.
The registration service will be available for the 90 countries with
the dot-com-dot-country-code domain name structure that can easily adapt to
VDNS technology. This service
will provide businesses with a centralized place to register local dot-com
domain names.
